A growing defence technology business is looking for an experienced Validation & Test Engineer to take ownership of product verification and validation, working closely with design engineers to ensure products meet performance, reliability and compliance requirements. This is a hands-on role combining test development, bespoke equipment design, practical testing and technical analysis, with the opportunity to develop validation capabilities as the business grows

What you will be doing:

• Develop and execute validation plans against product design requirements
• Design and build bespoke test rigs, fixtures and equipment
• Plan and conduct Design of Experiments (DoE) to assess performance and identify key design variables
• Carry out functional, environmental, durability and reliability testing
• Capture, analyse and interpret test data, producing technical reports and recommendations
• Investigate test failures through structured root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with design engineers
• Maintain test procedures, specifications and documentation to ensure traceability and repeatability
• Improve testing methods, equipment and laboratory capabilities

 What we are looking for:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Experience planning and executing product verification or validation testing
• Understanding of test methodologies, data analysis and Design of Experiments
• Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition systems and technical reporting
• Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance, normally requiring British citizenship or at least five years' UK residency
• Experience designing test rigs, reliability engineering, environmental testing or accelerated life testing would be advantageous
• Familiarity with Minitab, MATLAB or Python for statistical analysis would be beneficial
