We are recruiting for a Trials Engineer to join our rural client on a permanent, full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer with CNC operation capabilities. This position will be working on site as well as an outdoors environment, supporting with conducting trials and engineering tests on numerous innovative projects. The successful candidate will be agile, resourceful, with an innovative mind and the ability to adapt to changing priorities as necessary to support our clients’ customers.

What you can expect:

• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm with a 30minute lunch break
• Salary: Circa £40k – £50k, depending on experience
• Location: North Herefordshire/Powys border
• Annual leave: 20 days plus bank holidays, increasing up to 25 days after 2 years’ of service
• Full training provided
• Role subject to attainment and retention of UKSV SC clearance

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for the Inspection/examination of all equipment and materiel prior to any test
• Responsible for arranging, conducting, and finalising trials
• Produce comprehensive reports detailing results from the trial
• Testing and processing of explosive compounds following prescribed methods
• Creation of technical drawings
• Operating both CNC and manual mills, lathes and other routine workshop equipment

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of a HNC in Engineering, or demonstrable amount of practical engineering experience gained within current or previous employment
• Experienced machine operator using both manual and CNC lathes and milling machines
• Must be able to operate as an individual and within a team displaying positive behaviours in order to achieve positive results and outcomes
• Ability to interpret technical data and compose detailed reports
• High standard of literacy, numeracy and IT (MS Office and instrumentation software)
• Demonstrable experience using CAD software
• UK Driving licence
• Ability to operate plant equipment such as telehandlers and forklifts, preferred
• Good practical knowledge of instrumentation techniques, preferred
• IOSH Managing Safely, preferred
