We are recruiting a Site Facilities Support to join a specialist site facility in the rural north Leominster on a full-time permanent basis. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to a practical and proactive individual who enjoys working outdoors, maintaining facilities and equipment and supporting day-to-day site operations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team, adapting to changing priorities and maintaining high standards of safety

What you will be doing:

• Carrying out routine maintenance and responding promptly to equipment faults
• Fitting replacement parts and checking equipment operates correctly and safely
• Maintaining tools, stores and equipment
• Responding to emergencies, unplanned issues and repair requirements
• Maintaining buildings, facilities, grounds and access routes, ensuring working areas remain safe, tidy and clear
• Supporting the preparation, alteration and reinstatement of facilities
• Undertaking practical engineering tasks using appropriate woodworking and metalworking tools
• Operating plant equipment, including telehandlers and forklift trucks, where trained and authorised
• Carrying out safe lifting operations, including moving interlocking concrete blocks
• Supporting engineers with practical tasks when required
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions and adapting to changing operational priorities

What we are looking for:

• Full UK driving licence
• Experience operating telehandlers and/or forklift trucks
• Knowledge of safe lifting operations and LOLER requirements
• Previous experience in a labouring, general operative or similar practical role
• Good literacy and numeracy skills, together with basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• A positive, motivated and safety-conscious approach to work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• Ability to attain and retain UK Security Check (SC) clearance is essential

Desirable attributes:

• Experience in a MOD or industrial environment would be beneficial
• Practical mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience would be advantageous
• Familiarity with hand tools, basic woodworking and metal-fabrication equipment would be advantageous
• IOSH Managing Safely or other relevant health and safety training would be beneficial
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations would be advantageous
