We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Controller to join our long-standing client in their finance team. This role is crucial in managing the purchase ledger and providing general support to the finance team If you are organised, detail-oriented, and eager to develop your accounting skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a dynamic team.

What you can expect:

• Salary: £28,000 per annum
• Working hours: 9am – 5pm with 45-minute break
• Location: Ledbury
• 22 days plus bank holiday, increasing by 1 day after 5 years and a further day after 10 years

What you will be doing:

• Match goods receipt POs with delivery notes/invoices, and check GL coding in SAP
• Enter and authorise invoices, raise debit notes, process payments (including proforma, ad hoc, and settlement discounts), and maintain payment templates
• Perform supplier statement, credit card, bank, petty cash reconciliations
• Prepare aged creditors reports and monthly supplier reports
• Support annual audit/year-end pack preparation
• Set up and maintain supplier accounts/database, resolve supplier queries, manage AP mailboxes, control outstanding GRPO listings, and maintain purchase ledger filing/archiving
• Oversee AP authorisation workflows, maintain document scanning systems, distribute remittances, and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Provide assistance to the Management Accountant and handle payment request calls/queries effectively

What we are looking for:

• Experience in purchase ledger, accounts payable, or general finance
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent organisational skills & problem-solving skills
• Team player but able to work independently within department
• Ability to prioritise workload, and work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams
• Adaptable to changes
• Accuracy & attention to detail
• GCSEs in Maths & English (Grade C or above)
