Maintenance Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturing organisation, based in Hereford on a full time permanent basis providing essential engineering support to ensure plant equipment runs efficiently and safely. What You Will Be Doing

• Diagnosing faults on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, responding quickly to breakdowns.
• Executing planned preventative maintenance tasks according to the plant schedule.
• Undertaking engineering planned maintenance activities within the department.
• Maintaining accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance activities in the CMMS to justify improvement projects.
• Conducting effective face-to-face shift handovers to ensure smooth operational continuity.
• Ensuring safe working conditions at all times in line with risk assessments and workplace organisation policies.
• Adopting working practices that continuously improve efficiency and standards in your area.
• Assisting in the development of methods to reduce plant downtime and improve efficiencies using modern techniques.
• Carrying out health and safety (6S) improvements as directed by the Engineering Team Leader.
• Servicing, maintaining, and calibrating engineering plant areas.
• Assisting with training and development of apprentices.
• Providing flexibility across departments to share knowledge and resources when required.

What We Are Looking For

• Recognised apprenticeship or HNC in maintenance or manufacturing engineering (or similar qualification).
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Self-motivated with strong organisational and time-management skills.
• High level of self-discipline and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to motivate and support team members, including apprentices.
