We are working with a Hereford-based client on an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual looking to take the next step in their sales and customer focused career. This is a full-time, permanent role and would suit someone from a retail, telesales, customer service or other target-driven service driven environment who is keen to develop their commercial skills.

You do not need previous business development experience — what matters is a tenacious and professional approach, confidence speaking with customers and the motivation to succeed. Working closely with the Sales & Marketing Director and a supportive team developing new customer relationships, identifying business opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of the company

What you can expect:

• Starting salary circa £30’000 plus uncapped commission
• Working hours: 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday, office based with 30 minutes for lunch
• Full-time permanent position

What you will be doing:

• Speaking with existing and potential customers by telephone, email, LinkedIn and other channels
• Researching businesses and identifying potential new customers
• Making proactive outbound calls and following up new business opportunities
• Developing strong relationships with new and existing customers
• Understanding customer requirements and identifying opportunities to provide suitable solutions
• Following up enquiries, quotations and active sales opportunities
• Maintaining accurate customer and sales information within the CRM system
• Carrying out regular client data cleansing and keeping records up to date
• Supporting the sales team with quotations, proposals and tender submissions
• Monitoring the sales pipeline and ensuring opportunities are followed up promptly
• Researching market sectors, competitors and potential customers
• Providing a professional and positive customer experience throughout the sales process
• Working towards agreed sales targets and KPIs
• Supporting the Internal Sales team as required

• Experience in a customer-facing, sales, retail, telesales or commercial environment
• A tenacious and determined approach, with the confidence to pick up the phone and start conversations
