We are working with a Hereford based client on an exciting opportunity to join a growing business for an Internal Business Development role, full-time permanent basis. The role will be focused on identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships and supporting revenue growth. Working closely with the Sales & Marketing Director, you will play an important role in expanding the customer base, developing existing accounts and supporting the wider sales team

What You Will Be Doing

• Managing new and existing customer accounts and identifying opportunities for growth
• Proactively researching and identifying potential new customers by sector
• Generating and following up new business opportunities through calls, emails, LinkedIn and meetings
• Following up on active opportunities and supporting negotiations
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information and sales activity within the CRM system
• Carrying out ongoing client data cleansing
• Reviewing the sales pipeline and prioritising opportunities
• Preparing quotations, proposals and tender submissions for new opportunities
• Building strong customer relationships and supporting client engagement and retention
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure solutions meet customer requirements
• Monitoring competitor activity and market trends and reporting findings
• Ensuring positive customer experiences throughout the sales process
• Working towards agreed sales targets and KPIs
• Supporting the Internal Sales team as required

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience in business development, account management or a similar customer-focused commercial role
• Experience using CRM and/or ERP systems is essential
• A proactive approach to lead generation and new business development
• Strong customer relationship-building and client engagement skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong listening, influencing, persuasion and negotiation skills
• Ability to research markets, assess opportunities and identify potential customers
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a sales pipeline
• Data analysis and reporting skills
