We are working with an established, purpose-led organisation to recruit a Head of Human Resources on a part-time, permanent basis.

Working closely with a supportive Chief Executive and Senior Management Team, you will play an important role in shaping the organisation's people strategy, providing practical HR leadership and helping to maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging working culture. This is a varied position offering the opportunity to influence at a senior level, make a genuine difference and contribute to an organisation with a clear sense of purpose.

What You Can Expect:

• Competitive salary: £38,890.80 per annum for 30 hours (£48,613 FTE)
• Part-time, permanent position
• 30 hours per week over 4–5 days
• Based in Leominster, Herefordshire
• A supportive and collaborative working environment with an approachable Senior Management Team
• An enhanced DBS check, including the relevant barred list check, will be required for this position
• Participate in the Senior Management On-Call rota, providing telephone leadership support (1 evening plus a weekend in a 7-week period)

What You Will Be Doing:

• Develop and deliver the organisations People Strategy and annual HR Operational Plan, ensuring alignment with wider organisational objectives
• Lead the HR function, providing practical advice, guidance and support to managers on all employee-related matters for a total headcount of c160
• Oversee recruitment, selection, retention, workforce planning and succession planning
• Develop, implement and review HR policies, procedures and initiatives, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice
• Provide expert advice on employment law, employee relations, disciplinary and grievance matters
• Support a positive working culture, driving employee engagement, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Lead, mentor and develop a HR Officer and wider operations team including Receptionist and Business Operations Coordinator, supporting their ongoing professional development
• Monitor workforce data, people metrics and trends, identifying opportunities to improve organisational performance and retention
• Support managers with performance management, learning and development and the full employee lifecycle
• Ensure effective HR governance, risk management and compliance, including safeguarding and data protection requirements
• Work closely with the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team and Board, contributing to organisational strategy and business planning
• Prepare HR reports and present workforce updates to the Board and People Committee, including co-chairing the People Committee
• Work with the Head of Finance to develop and manage HR, recruitment and training budgets
• Lead and support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

What We Are Looking For:

• Significant experience in a broad HR Generalist, HR Business Partner or senior HR management role
• Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent
• A strong working knowledge of employment legislation and its practical application
• Experience developing and implementing HR strategies, policies and procedures
• Confident providing advice and guidance to managers across a broad range of employee relations matters
• Experience supporting and developing teams, with the ability to build positive and effective working relationships
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
• A collaborative and approachable style, with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels
• A pragmatic and commercially aware approach, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational HR requirements
• Comfortable using workforce data and insights to inform decisions and identify opportunities for improvement

Desirable:

• Experience working within the charity, voluntary or third sector, particularly within social care or a healthcare environment
