Customer Service and Exports Administrator – FTC – 12-18 months

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business, in north Herefordshire on a full time, fixed term contract basis supporting both customer service and export administration activities. Acting as the key point of contact for customers, you will play an important role in ensuring orders are processed efficiently, customer queries are resolved promptly, and export documentation is completed accurately. Working closely with production, planning and logistics teams.

What You Can Expect

• Salary: up to £27,000 per annum
• Monday to Thursday (8am – 5pm) and Friday (8am – 2:30pm), (40hours per week) with a 30minute unpaid lunch
• Full time, Fixed term contract – 12 – 18-month approx

What You Will Be Doing

• Acting as the primary point of contact for customer enquiries and order-related communications
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through professional and timely support
• Monitoring customer orders throughout the production and fulfilment process
• Providing regular updates to customers regarding order status and delivery schedules
• Reviewing daily order books and production schedules
• Ensuring customer orders contain all relevant information and documentation
• Maintaining and updating customer pricing information within company systems
• Preparing and processing export documentation and supporting international shipments
• Ensuring data accuracy and consistency across multiple IT systems
• Producing and updating daily reports and administration records
• Liaising with production, planning and logistics teams to resolve customer and order queries
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining service standards
• Assisting with internal and external audit requirements where required

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience within a customer service, customer support, export administration or sales administration role
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Confident and professional telephone manner
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Experience using ERP systems; SAP experience would be advantageous
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Commercial awareness and customer-focused approach
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work on own initiative
•  Friendly, approachable and team-oriented manner
• Understanding of KPIs and commitment to delivering high levels of customer service
