The role plays a key part in maintaining and improving business operating systems, ensuring reliable database operations, and delivering accurate management information across the organisation.

What You Will Be Doing

• Administering and maintaining SQL Server databases in line with Microsoft best practice.
• Monitoring, optimising, and troubleshooting database performance and security.Extracting and delivering business and customer data to meet reporting requirements.
• Maintaining and enhancing SQL code, stored procedures, and database objects supporting core business systems.
• Assisting with support and bug-fixing of C# and VB.NET code, with opportunities to develop further coding experience.
• Providing 3rd line and on-call support for system and data-related issues when required.
• Supporting the information needs of the business through reports and management information using SSRS and Power BI.
• Keeping up to date with industry best practices and advising management on opportunities for improvement and innovation.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven experience in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and database optimisation.
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and familiarity with stored procedures and database objects.
• Working knowledge of C# and VB.NET for supporting or developing business applications.
• Experience with Power BI and SSRS reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• A proactive and customer-focused approach to supporting business systems.
