The Importance of Communication in the Workplace

Communication is key 🔑

Like so much else over the past couple of years, job specifications look a lot different to how they once did and there’s been a shift in what employers are looking for in potential candidates. The demand for personal qualities is evergrowing and we are increasingly seeing "communication" as a required skill.

Why is that?
Effective communication is absolutely essential in any industry. It is the foundation for building strong relationships both within the team and with clients, giving feedback to colleagues, effective negotiating, and so much more.

Words and phrases can sometimes be misinterpreted in the workplace, which is where miscommunication happens. Here are some examples of common miscommunications and alternatives that you could use:

🗣 "Here's what I can do for you” instead of "I can't"
🗣 "I'll find out" instead of "I don't know"
🗣 “Please can you explain again” instead of “I just don’t understand”
